MsL  Performing Arts Exchange was founded in 2001 with the aim of  facilitating performing arts exchange between China and the rest of the world.

The Ms-L company was conceived and formed by Liu Li .  She recalls: ‘I showed a lot of natural interest and talent in performing arts  since Kindergarten, but my academic records were too good at school, the pressure from my parents and school was such that I had to go for one of the top 15 universities in China, and it  was never an option for me to attend  a performing arts school which normally requires less academic scores.’
Therefore in reality,  while knuckling down to academic study, she devoted a great deal of  her spare time to the performing arts as extracurricular activities.  Liu Li graduated with a BSc Honours degree in Psychology from city Shanghai, then obtained an MSc in Information Systems from city Manchester.  After Master degree. she set up MsL performing arts exchange company instead of following her science education path…

She says: Having lived in mid Wales for a few years, she observed the lack of inspiring shows in local theatres; having been inspired by magical West End shows, she made the decision to follow her passion for theatre activities,  utilising  her theatre connections with China, the biggest performing arts market. So it was that she started Ms-L Performing Arts Exchange.

The debut project “ Beijing Wushu Tour” made a great impact in British Chinese martial arts society;  the extraordinary Za Ji Acrobatics Tour, marked the MsL company on 23 city theatre boards.  MsL moved locations first from Mid Wales to Cardiff, then from Cardiff to London in order to be merged into the network of  London’s metropolitan theatre land, where more challenges and more adventures lay ahead.
