Tour of Olympic venues for SENI fighters and visitors.
This year’s Seni EXPO is taking place just before the opening ceremonies for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Although Beijing, Athens and Sydney are hard acts to follow there has been a lot of buzz about the great job London has done in preparing some stunning venues for the games; transforming sites and integrating venues with iconic architecture that should bear comparison with former olympic icons such as Beijing’s bird’s nest stadium.
As you will already be at the London Excel Arena for the Seni EXPO, this is a great chance for you to witness history in the making, and see for yourself how several areas of London have been completely transformed.
You will not just be looking at the surface of these sporting architectural beauties you will also be introduced to the the history, ideas and design philosophies behind their construction by our entertaining yet informative professional guides.
We have planned this tour especially for SENI attendees. The tour will start at the West entrance of Excel with a brief introduction to the Excel Arena (itself the future home of Olympic judo, boxing, weightlifting, taekwondo, wrestling, table tennis and various paralympic sports); Then we head on to Greenwich where the Equestrian events will have a spectacular setting in front of the stunning Queen’s House (a former royal residence); then visit the venue for artistic gymnastics and the basketball finals; finally we take you to the Olympic park and Olympic village for a look at the main stadium and the surrounding facilities.
The time:
Tour A: 1pm on 3rd June Sunday
Tour B: 10am on 4th June Monday
Duration: 3-4 hours (dependent on traffic conditions)
The cost: £8 per person
Transport: Public transport, please use your Oyster card or purchase your Day travel Card in advance. There will be no time allotted for the individual purchasing of travel tickets.
